Why Health, Medicine & Society at Lehigh?
The Health, Medicine, and Society (HMS) Program prepares students to meet the increasingly complex health needs of the growing global population. Our interdisciplinary faculty offer courses focusing on social scientific and humanistic approaches to health that aim to cultivate a broad understanding of the effects of health, illness, and medical care on individuals, families, and communities. The minor is intended to serve students who wish to contribute to any of the wide variety of health care professions, including administration, medicine, public health, care-giving, business, policy, and research. Our faculty are involved in both local and international health-related research, including a growing focus on community health.
