After a quick introduction to Global Studies from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, students will receive “a briefing packet” with 4 key pieces of information on six target countries. The only catch? Three of the facts are true, but one is a lie! Working in small groups without AI assistance, students must try to figure out which information they can trust and which to doubt. They will be able to get advice from several GS majors on hand to provide hints. Faculty specialists in the target countries will also offer perspective, challenge assumptions, and provide feedback. Groups who figure out which three facts are correct get a stamp in their global “passport.” The event concludes when everyone has collected all six stamps. Food and refreshments will be available, as well as a raffle with prizes!
